Key activities

You will work as Junior Legal in the legal Team of Aerospacelab SA, based in Mont-Saint-Guibert (Belgium).You will have a direct impact on the legal and human organization of the company; Giving advices in multiple legal matters; improving our processes by setting-up controls, standardizing and digitalizing our ways of working.

What we expect as key activities:

  • General Corporate Legal Matters: Manage day-to-day legal matters including labor law compliance, contract law, insurance, compensation, real estate, litigation, Intellectual Property, Merger & Acquisition, and employee benefits. Ensure all practices are in line with local and European law.
  • Corporate Governance / ESG : implement and oversee the Corporate Governance obligations for the Company under Belgian company law.
  • Contracts: Oversee the negotiation and administration of commercial and governmental contracts, ensuring compliance with legal standards and protecting the company's interests.
  • Export Control and ITAR Compliance: Oversee all aspects of export control regulations, ensuring compliance with ITAR, EAR, and other US export laws. Manage licensing, documentation, and audits related to the export of technology and services.
  • Licensing and Spectrum Applications: Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on licensing requirements for satellite operations, including US NOAA licensing process and FCC spectrum applications. Work closely with team members who are directly handling these applications.

Must have

  • French and English speaking.
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Extensive experience (3+ years) in a legal role with experience in a function with significant exposure to regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and international business.
  • Expertise in export control laws, handling classified information, or a strong will to learn.
  • Experience in managing legal aspects of satellite technology and manufacturing.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse teams across multiple geographic locations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with start-up or SME environment.
  • First experience in the industrial sector is a plus (space, aviation or production sector is an asset),
  • Background in corporate law, and ESG or a strong will to learn,
  • Knowledge of Odoo is a plus,
